Another fun highlight was seeing the way that the Phoenix pack accepted Zach right away into the pack. I did adore the way that these two worked together. hehe But our Mackenna catches on very quickly to the meanings behind his grunts and speaks his language in a way. Ryan is a man of few words more like grunts. There is a feeling of danger in this story and some mystery involved. Ryan at first upon meeting this feisty lone wolf, is appaled, but very quickly his wolf reacts in a strange way to Mackenna and Ryan is intrigued with Mackenna and pursues her. She has never experienced living in a pack, but she knows that Zack, her young charge, needs the closeness and the family connection to Ryan. Mackenna is a lone wolf, although not by choice but its the only life she has ever known. But she finds a safe haven for him….Ryan Connor is his uncle. A teenage boy has shown up on her doorstep and she knows that he is in trouble and hiding a painful past. It starts off with our heroine Mackenna Wray who is in the midst of a dilemma. Now this character has been fun through the series so I was pretty excited to get back to the series and the Phoenix pack. In Savage Urges, we have our beloved Ryan’s story.

But when another pack’s sinister Alpha comes sniffing around, threatening Makenna and her shelter, this enforcer is ready to let his wolf off the leash… Although there is no mating bond, he’s sure she’s the one. Quirky and sensual, she seems to enjoy riling him, especially when she refuses to discuss her past. Or so Ryan assumes until he meets the mysterious Makenna. Lone wolves are loners for a reason-and most of them bad. She just wasn’t prepared to feel a connection of her own. And when she discovers that a teen in her care is related to Ryan Conner, the broody, handsome-as-sin enforcer of the Phoenix Pack, she’s eager to help connect the two.
